Nashville Songwriters Hall Of Fame Nominees Announced

Brad Paisley and Shania Twain are among this year’s nominees for the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Both artists have been nominated in the Songwriter/Artist category, along with Toby Keith, , and Phil Vassar. In addition, Rhett Akins, Buddy Cannon, Larry Cordle, Carl Jackson, Mary Ann Kennedy, David Malloy, Frank J. Myers, and Tia Sillers. have been nominated in the Songwriters category.

Two songwriters and one songwriter/artist will be elected to the HOF by their peers and members of the HOF. In addition, two more will be named to the class of 2021. There will also be a veteran songwriter and a veteran songwriter/artist chosen by a separate body of veteran voters. To qualify for these two spots, the nominees will have to have had their first Top 20 hit at least 30 years ago.

Those selected will be honored November 1st at the “50/51” Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala, which will also honor the class of 2020, which included Steve Earle, Bobbie Gentry, Kent Blazy, Brett James and Spooner Oldham. Their gala was postponed due to COVID.
