Earth Day: Air, Atmosphere & Climate

We’re gearing up for Earth Day! And you’re invited to join us for our Earth Day Celebration as we come together to honor our planet. This year’s theme is Air, Atmosphere & Climate, and we’re excited to offer a day filled with fun, learning, and giving back.

 Date: April 26, 2025
 Time: 9am – 1pm
 Locations: Fields – Penn House (Abingdon Visitor Center) / Corner of Main & Cummings (main event); Abingdon Police Station Parking Lot (recycling drop-off)

 Event Highlights:
 Engaging Activities – Enjoy hands-on educational exhibit booths and live musical performances!
 Kids’ Zone – Face painting, games, crafts, fun eco-friendly activities and FREE popcorn!
 FREE Rain Barrels – Available on a first-come, first-served basis! (courtesy of Upper Tennessee River Roundtable)

 Give Back & Get a Gift!
We’re hosting a donation drive for canned goods & gently used shoes – bring a donation to the Sustain Abingdon tent and receive a free gift (while supplies last).

 Recycling & Pet Supply Donations Drive: At the Abingdon Police Station Parking Lot, drop off recyclables, including:
 document shredding
 paper
 aluminum cans
 other metals
 plastics (#1 and #2)
 e-waste (computers, printers, phones, TVs, vacuum cleaners, microwaves, etc).

  Plus, donate pet supplies (food, treats, toys, blankets, bleach, litter, towels, carriers, gently used bedding and Dawn detergent) to help animals in need!
