Garth Brooks Invites Ashley McBryde To Become A Grand Ole Opry Member

Ashley McBryde got a huge surprise while visiting “CBS Mornings” yesterday. Garth Brooks “zoomed” in to share some news with the singer. Ashley was visibly nervous and said “what’s happening?” when Brooks said “I have a proposal.” And continued “Miss Ashley McBryde, on behalf of the Opry and myself as an Opry member – I’m gonna try not to cry – we would love for you to consider becoming the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry.”

Through tears, she said yes. Ashley emotionally noted “There’s Grammys, and there’s bein’ in front of the Grand Ole Opry – the two greatest things that could happen to you as an entertainer. I always said I will earn it. This is a pretty surreal moment.”

There’s no induction date yet, but you can bet Garth will be there to do the honors. Ashley made her Opry debut in 2017 and will be the fourth artist to receive an Opry invitation this year, Jamey Johnson, songwriter Don Schlitz, and legendary session player Charlie McCoy.
