“Lucille” co-writer Hal Bynum dies: Songwriter Hal Bynum, who co-wrote the Kenny Rogers hit “Lucille,” passed away June 2nd at 87. He had suffered a stroke, and was battling Alzheimer’s. Other hits co-written by Bynum include Jim Reeves’ 1964 posthumous release “Nobody’s Fool,” Johnny Cash’s “Papa Was A Good Man,” Cash and Waylon Jennings’ “There Ain’t No Good Chain Gang,” and Patty Loveless’ number one hit “Chains.”
